Description of the Book:

Welcome to my collection of poetry. This book is born from a deeply personal journey, largely shaped during the period of my father's prolonged battle with Alzheimer's disease. Witnessing his struggle was incredibly challenging, but it was even more heart-wrenching for my mother, who devoted herself tirelessly to his care.

Amidst this turmoil, I faced an unprecedented level of stress and sought solace in writing. As my mother's ability to care for my father waned and we made the difficult decision to move him to a care facility, my emotions were in constant conflict. Writing became my refuge, a way to navigate and process the intense feelings that overwhelmed me.

The first few poems in this book reflect my inner struggle during this time. Yet, the act of writing offered me a reprieve, allowing me to also explore and express other thoughts and emotions that surfaced within me.

For me, this collection is more than just poetry—it is a cathartic journey through pain, resilience, and self-discovery.

  • Author's Name: Kaushal Parikh

About the Author: Kaushal Parikh is a former banker who journeyed from the corporate world to the realm of photography and painting. Kaushal spent years trapped in the confines of offices. Despite the stability and stature, he felt a deep sense of discontentment: corporate life was not for him. In this period of introspection, he picked up a camera, which changed the course of his life. Kaushal published a photo book showcasing his street photography that was well received internationally. and then he yearned for a deeper form of self-expression beyond the confines of a camera lens. It was this quest that led Kaushal to discover the joys of painting. Grappling with colour dyslexia, he turned this perceived limitation around, infusing his artwork with a distinctive palette that often deviates from traditional colour theory. Today, Kaushal enjoys the perfect balance of photography and painting, each medium offering a unique outlet for his creativity. It was painting and photography that saw him through his fathers extended illness and it was at this time that he also started writing poetry to make sense of what his father, his mother (the caretaker) and he were going through. Reading and writing poetry were instrumental in helping him cope. While Kaushal often exhibits his photography and paintings, his writing has been a private endeavour, until now.
