Author's Name: Howard Varney About the Author: Howard Varney was born in 1980 and grew up in Macclesfield, the son of two music teachers. During his childhood he learned to play piano and trumpet, performing in school bands and orchestras and singing bass in the school choir. Despite this background, he did not take up music professionally and suffered from severe depression in early adulthood. He ultimately embarked on a career in IT, in which he now works, but never climbed the career ladder. Now divorced, and with no children, he lives alone in Derbyshire.
