Description of the Book:

This is a collection of poems exploring life issues such as selfdiscovery, love, grief and the world
around us. It also includes a few odes to some loved ones as they have inspired me with my writing.
Rest in peace to Charlotte, my big sister and to my good friend Jabulani (Breeze). You both taught
me how short life was and I miss you dearly. I hope this collection inspires you to write about life
around you and to write about your loved ones. Apart from breath itself, words are all we have.

About the Author: I, Chauntelle (Tatenda) Madondo, am a Wolverhampton based poet. I was born in Zimbabwe andmigrated to the UK aged 9. This was a huge change for me as I experienced a big cultural shock andsomewhat of an identity crisis, having to adapt to life in the UK. It was during this time, I developed apassion for writing, as I was a quiet child and would often shy away from speaking about my internalfeelings. From journaling in my personal diary about my day at school, to writing songs about how Ifelt, which later developed to writing poetry. My background to performing started in the church, where I was a “Gospel rapper” and would rapabout my faith in God at church concerts. Fat forward to 2017, where I attended my first open micevent and I have been performing ever since! I am proud to also be a Workshop Facilitator and sowriting my first collection of poems is an incredible next step in my journey. I love writing, readingand listening to other people’s writing, so I urge you to write and tell your stories!
