    About the Author: The poet was born in Kolkata,India. Her father was a professor of Mathematics and had a transferable job.Thus,she had the opportunity to stay in different places and study in different schools.This resulted in her becoming an introvert but observant kid.She started writing poems as well as stories in both English and Bengali to share her thoughts and experiences. Her poems got published in school magazines but were criticised by most of the students as well as the teachers.As a result, she decided to keep her writing abilities a secret.Soon after completing Masters in Economics she got married and lived in Coochbehar for twenty years, gave birth to her son and worked as a primary school teacher for twelve years.There, she came into contact with several kind and helpful people with whom she shared her poems which were published in the local newspaper and magazines.She attended several literary meets and her works got appreciation from authors like Manik Bandyopadhyay. After her father's death she quit her job and started living with her mother in Kolkata. Here her poems and short stories are being published in newspapers and magazines too.She has two collections of Bengali short stories published.This is her first book of English poems.Her life is the muse for her poems.The simplicity and freshness of these poems refresh the readers and take them to a journey of tranquility.
