Description of the Book:
This is a poetic reflection of overcoming the tearful valleys and climbing the peaks to be closer to the stars and God’s vast majesty. It was an effort to wrap up painful memories, address attitudes about mental illness and survivors of SEA, sexual exploitation and abuse. The hope is to question the altered state of the worldly and its effects on humanity and raise awareness for those who have yet to find their voice. May this collection leave an impression on the reader and help change public views regarding mental health and the atrocities of all abuse.

Author's Name: Shannon Zell About the Author: Shannon Zell is a native Houstonian, who attended the University of St. Thomas in her hometown, and went on to be a teacher. In her youth, she enjoyed reading and writing. She shared the joy of poetry as a teaching tool with her students, who were delighted by her ability to rhyme on demand. Her nieces and nephews continue to be amazed by her lyrical story telling as well. Shannon has also combined poetry and art with a class she created for the homeless community called Watercolor and Words. Currently, Shannon lives with her dog Copper in Mansfield, TX. She is happy to be closer to family and appreciates the small-town life, friendly people, and creative endeavors she has found. Shannon has written a few poetry collections and some children’s books with the hope they will be published soon.
