Description of the Book:
Shrieking Flowers is a collection of poems exploring the experiences and challenges of modern womanhood as told through nature, metaphors, and taboos. It demonstrates the close connection between women and the earth, as well as the disconnect from the natural world felt by many in a society that values monetary achievements and social status. There is a plethora of variation within this collection and as such, the poems are meant to be read in any order. While many of the topics focus on experiences pertaining to the internal feelings and controversies of femininity, this collection is meant to be read and enjoyed by everyone regardless of gender or background. It is my hope that everyone will be able to connect, learn, rejoice, and appreciate these poems in one way or another.
