    About the Author: Poet, Creative writer, Digital Media Marketer, Teacher, Dancer, Singer, Comedian and Actress. Laura was born to Mexican immigrant parents in the 90s. She was raised on the east side of Aurora, IL, and now lives in the south shore neighborhood of Chicago. Her grandparents were agricultural farmers in the village mountains of Zacatecas, Mex. Laura's writing is influenced by her childhood stories, culture, family, and learning experiences. She likes listening to corridos from the 50's and 60's Mexican Regional music, and Motown songs from the 60's and 70's. Laura is proud of her heritage and works hard to revive personification and imagery through her work.
