Poetry by Erasure is an exploration of poetics in our everyday language. In a mixture of original poems and existing texts, H.M. Hussain uses an erasure technique, reducing words, experimenting with syntax and punctuation to get to the essence of each poem. By showing the stages of evolution for each poem the poet shows a raw and honest editorial process in the same way an artist might show preliminary sketches to a painting.

Using texts we encounter in our everyday lives, Poems by Erasure celebrated the poetics found in the ordinary, bringing new meaning and light to familiar words.
