Description of the Book:
This book is a collection of Mihir Malla's poems about the truth of his world. Hence, this book contains poetic depictions of the lives I have lived or witnessed. The poems will take you to dark places but only in search of light.
'Poetic Mihir' is an attempt on my behalf to be poetic in an imperfect world. I have masked very real topics in my poems using various metaphors. The poems discuss racism in the 21st century, the dilemma that comes with indoctrination, toxic masculinity, glorification of war, poverty porn and much more but in the most subtle of ways. Some poems are more direct than others. The effort of these poems is to show the conflicts we face today as individuals. There are hindrances on our path to a more inclusive world. They are question marks that pop on our heads when we start to think for ourselves. I have utilized my freedom of speech to depict just that. New ideas must be embraced. Writers have a responsibility to hold a mirror to society and all writers must be progressive, I paraphrase from my idol, Saadat Hasan Manto.
