The fact that instant teleportation has still not been discovered is a huge set back in his plans to travel at supersonic speeds. Being an engineer, he has found a temporary fix to the problem. He usually covers a thousand kilometres of distance within seconds through a simple mantra of his: Keep your feet on the ground and head in the clouds. That way one can always add a little personal flavour of creativity and madness to the logical rules the world proclaims (without much empirical data, mind you) to offer.
