Author's Name: JoLynn Backes About the Author: JoLynn Backes has been an advocate since graduating undergrad in 2001. She started out as a volunteer advocate with Rape Victim Advocates in Chicago, Illinois, quickly becoming a volunteer coordinator intern. After moving to Albany, NY in 2008 she sought out the nearest rape crisis center and continued volunteering. She has worked at the New York State Coaltion Against Domestic Violence, the Putnam-Northern Westchester Womens Resource Center, Victim Advocate Services of Planned Parenthood of Greater NY, and is currently back with the Albany County Crime Victim and Sexual Violence Center. She takes hotline shifts, assists victims with law enforcement, DSS, OVS, and more. In addition, she presents anti-violence curriculum in schools throughout Albany County, facilitating support groups and healing retreats, and organizes awareness events. Book ISBN: 9789395969314
