Author's Name: Lucy Strange About the Author: Lucy grew up in Appalachia with hardships including parents suffering from substance abuse disorders, childhood sexual trauma, and isolation. She began college at 13-years-old as apart of the State of Ohio's College Credit Plus program and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Natural Science and Mathematics from Miami University in August 2022. She is the President/Cofounder of 501c3 nonprofit Growing Gardens (www.growingardens.org). The focus of this organization is to bring support and awareness to trauma survivors, those in recovery from mental illness and/or substance abuse disorders, and anyone concerned with mental wellness.
