Description of the Book:
The poems in this collection have been written over a number of years. Some were found in a notebook from a few years ago and explore the influence of places where the poet has lived; these places evoke powerful memories and there are key moments which, when relived by the prompting of the senses, release strong emotive nostalgia.
The beginning poems in the collection have been written from a sense of self-reflection; thinking over influences of people and places in the current times. Some explore more poignant realities that form us as people.
Finally, the last poems in the collection were written to reflect on the time between the period of 8th September to 19th September 2022 - the sad days which spanned the death of Queen Elizabeth II and the day of her funeral. These are observations of thoughts and events; focusing in on details or mourners who have sparked an interest for the poet.
