Description of the Book:
Have you heard a roar? The kind of guttural scream that makes even the strongest of earth drop its stomach to the pits, the kind that dusts the stars off the sky, the kind that wrings an entire ocean, the kind that only a woman who has been wronged, silenced and made to pulverise her tongue in the face of injustice can ever dream of roaring?
Misery Loves Company is a collection of 21 poems and poetic proses that traverses through the 21 years of a girl's life, riding the smooth roads and flying over the highways, but always remembering to stomp the brakes at the nearest pit stop.
This book is a touching journey through the inner turmoils of the self, exploring the themes of depression, anxiety, trauma and abuse, narrated by a protagonist who emerged from the darkness to not only reach the light, but to grab it with her bare hands and claim it as her trident. This is the story of every girl who made the choice to take her kryptonite and turn it into her own secret superpower. The events narrated in the book were inspired by the confessions of near and dear ones.

Author's Name: Radhika R About the Author: Radhika is a poet, storyteller and dreamer hailing from the southern state of Kerala. After finishing her degree in Journalism from St. Teresa’s College, Kochi, she is currently pursuing her MBA in Communication Management from the Symbiosis School of Media and Communication, Bengaluru. Her works have been published in several national and international literary journals among the ranks of Delhi Poetry Slam and Canvas Literary Journal, USA. When she’s not lost in the world of her wild imaginations, you can find her haunting the streets of her hometown, trying to find the best biriyani and occasionally succumbing to a “quick power nap” right afterwards. The only other talent this 21-year old possesses, aside from resurrecting the ghosts of her past and giving them new life on paper, would be her smooth dance moves in the shower (her shampoo bottles shall testify). She lives with her loving parents who have been her backbone, and her imaginary friends whom she claims to be the flesh and blood behind her inspired writing since the age of thirteen.
