About the Author: Lt Col Ishani Maitra is a retired Indian Army officer with 21 years of service. She was commissioned from the Officers Training Academy, Chennai in 2002 and has served in various formations and training institutes including the Indian Military Academy, Dehradun and Sainik School Kalikiri, Andhra Pradesh. An alumnus of Carmel Convent, Lucknow and Lucknow University, she holds an MBA (HR) degree and is a certified Adolescent and Grief and Bereavement Counsellor. Over the years she has gained invaluable insights into life, resilience, and human connection. Now settled in Dehradun, she continues to pursue her love for writing, reading, and gardening.
