Description of the Book:

This collection of poems was primarily written throughout the Covid-19 pandemic lockdowns of 2020 and 2021. Many poems in the collection focus on capturing deep feelings and allowing them to flow into words. Picture it like photography for the soul - a snapshot of emotions taken to remember exactly how it felt in the moment, and shared with the hopes that it will spark feelings in others.

About the Author: Ashley Elizabeth is an opinionated cat person and feminist killjoy who truly believes we are the disruptors and creators of the world we wish to live in. She began writing dramatic fiction at a young age and slowly added poetry to her repertoire over the years, drawing inspiration from the many disparities she saw and experienced in society. She hopes that this collection of poems will aid in starting a dialogue about topics that cannot be swept under the rug any longer. She hopes to help ensure that all voices are heard, acknowledged, and amplified to address pertinent issues in society. As a resident of Ontario, Canada, Ashley would like to acknowledge that the land where she resides is the traditional territory of the Haudenosaunee and Anishinaabe peoples, many of whom continue to live and work here today. This territory is covered by the Upper Canada Treaties and is within the land protected by the Dish with One Spoon Wampum Agreement. Today this land is home to many First Nations, Métis and Inuit peoples, and this land acknowledgment serves as a reminder that our great standard of living is directly related to the resources and friendship of Indigenous people.
