Having a child with special needs comes with intense emotions- a joy and love so pure and indescribable; but also a dark side. A darkness we are just expected to swallow down and get on with life. We are constantly told we are so strong, which leads to guilt during the times we feel so helpless. These poems attempt to describe some of such feelings.
