Author's Name: Rim Darras About the Author: Rim Darras was born and grew up in Morocco, with parents who were both French teachers. For 20 years, she lived in Laayoune, a city in the Sahara Desert, before moving to complete her Engineering degree in the capital, Rabat. She started writing at 8 years old after her French teacher at the time asked the class to compose a poem of their own and hasn't stopped since. She published her first book 'La Rose Bohème', in 2013 after it won first place at the 'Concours de création littéraire de 2M' which was organized by the Moroccan National television channel in 2010. The poetry in 'La Rose Bohème' was written over the course of her middle and high school years. After graduating with a bachelor's and master's in Industrial Engineering in 2014, she worked in the Environmental field for the OCP Group, a leading fertilizer manufacturer, before moving to Canada in late 2020. She is currently working as a Project Manager for YSB (Youth Services Bureau of Ottawa), a non-profit agency operating with the support of the Province of Ontario.
