Author's Name: Rebecca Winn About the Author: Rebecca Winn is a young Native American woman working towards her goal of becoming a surgeon. Rebecca first began exploring writing poetry in her eighth-grade English class. Since then, she has used it as a way to explore complex ideas and emotions that are becoming increasingly relevant in her life and her generation. It wasn't until her junior year in high school that she convinced herself to share her work with more than just her close friends; starting with her AP literature professor, her class, and then poetry contests on social media.
