Description of the Book:

This collection of poems is an exploration of life and relationships in the midst of discovering traumatic repressed memories of childhood sexual abuse. It is a mosaic of what it looks like to imperfectly navigate reclaiming life, healing relationships, and trying to break out of cycles of trauma. It explores holding space for feelings of betrayal and anger, while holding compassion and attempting forgiveness. It demonstrates what it’s like to have to pendulate between inner child work and washing the dishes. Above all it is about unearthing a sense of self beyond the pain and the trauma responses that complicate our lives and relationships.

About the Author: Pamela lives in Colorado with her husband, two wonderful children, cat, dog, and sometimes foster dogs taken in from a local rescue. She's a thalassophile who’s spent the bulk of her life in a landlocked state. It wasn’t until adulthood that she understood the ways trauma from her childhood had been severely limiting her life and relationships. She often writes poetry to process things that have been too difficult to speak aloud. In writing and sharing this collection of poems she hopes to give voice and a sense of solidarity to all those who have endured the unthinkable. She knows the importance in giving pain a voice but not control. This collection serves to be something that will hopefully be healing for many and eye opening for others.
