Author's Name: J Renee Sterrett About the Author: J Renee started writing poetry as a 12-year old trying to find ways and reasons to survive. They understood the suffocating effects of silencing (forced and self-inflicted) and used writing as a means to tell their own story; when ears refused to listen blank pages heard every word. J has abandoned writing many times, but it waits in the distance, a home awaiting their eventual return. When J is not writing or thinking about writing they are educating children and adults and dreaming up a liberated and just world where Blackness exists without apology or consequence. J has a BA in Social Work from Xavier University, an MAT from American University and longs for the day when they can decide their concentration and actively pursue their PhD. J writes to heal themself, provide space for others to heal, and to amplify stories that might otherwise go unheard. Book ISBN: 9789357211192
