This is a collection of poems describing the journey of a Golden Retriever named Bella. Initially anxious and timid when she had to be re-homed at 15 months old, Bella entered training to overcome her fears. It soon became clear that her sweet disposition and gentle interactions made her destined to become a Therapy Dog. After a few short months, she emerged as a loving, confident girl. Now as a Certified Therapy Animal she enriches the lives of everyone she meets. Bella's unique journey is shared through her eyes.

About the Author: Karen has spent her 36-year career as a nonprofit director, working with individuals who have intellectual disabilities to help them fulfill their dreams in employment and community access/inclusion. Simultaneously, she worked 20 years as an accreditation surveyor for the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities, and 10 years as an adjunct faculty member at University of LaVerne. Karen holds a BA from Azusa Pacific University and an MBA from Eastern University. She has served on a variety of boards including multiple terms on the Board of Trustees of Purpose Church Pomona, is currently Secretary of the Board of Directors for Dignity Group. She is also a proud member of Rotary International. A native Californian, Karen resides in Rancho Cucamonga, a short 10 miles from Pomona where she was raised. Recently retired, she enjoys reading, crafting, and traveling. Karen fulfilled a life-long dream of publishing her first novel in 2022.
