My parents were poor but humble and so they brought us up in a like manner. Making the best of everything available and being contented; your regular smegular average average girl.Birth name Londi Lorraine Nickola Pascall. However being the person i was i didn't take kindly to it and did a switcheroo. I preferred to be called Dilon. Holding to my belief that men and women were equal and so i can play both roles. Its laughable but realistic if you grew up in my village. I was able to enjoy both sides of the teenage life as a boy in d field, hunting, fishing and enjoying trade work with my father and uncles. But also being able to learn the feminine roles needed to survive.Nothing compared though to the bliss i derived from discovering my talent as a writer. As a child i would write stories and poems but only read them to my family; who loved them and thought i had a hidden talent and an active imagination. I further developed my love and talent for writing by joining poetry clubs in primary school. Those groups involved coral speaking, drama clubs and child poetry competitions. Despite not knowing the feed back from critics other than people who would not want to hurt my feelings and discourage me by harsh criticism; i continued to pen until i was confident enough let others read my material.Not until i met with friends at high school who shared a similar interest; did i come openly into the public domain and voicing my work.Having entered into the work force as a sales representative i was forced to become more vocal and this assisted in the enhancement of my public speaking as a poet.Poetry provides an avenue to vent. When words fail the pen never does. When life gets tough and disappointments arise i have always had my poetic side to reply on. It has kept me at bay in this life. Giving me hope and a purpose to continue believing in myself.To me poetry is food to the soul and opens up a side of me nobody knows exist.
