Author's Name: Alana Varney About the Author: I am a founding member of the Roberta Rose Community and Family Support Organization, a nonprofit dedicated to helping people improve mental health by increasing access to resources, including food and shelter, and by creating ways to increase people's sense of belonging through community outreach programs. This organization is a cumulation of my service in the United States Air Force and the lifelong relationship I have had with the military and it's dedication to service, and my training as a mental health counselor. Working as a Licensed Counselor allows me to stay engaged with the community, work with individuals to set personal goals, and to fund a lot of the projects we are able to run through the non profit. We are a very small non profit, for now, and one thing about me is, I am working hard to make it grow.
