Description of the Book:
Have you ever refused the SOS call of your being? In a world, repeatedly primed to embrace positivity, there is no space for anything remotely negative. So, what does it do? It shoves itself discretely in the cracks of our being, hiding in dark places where it won’t be seen.
If only the abandoned parts of ourselves remained hidden forever while we live our spotless, positive lives. Unfortunately, our personal demons have a way of catching up with us, often in the middle of a sunshine party. That which holds true of self, also holds true of society. The truths we deny as a society come back to haunt us as war, crime and prejudice.
‘A Blaze of White Lotuses’ is an attempt to look deep inside self and societal norms while dropping the X-Y coordinates of positive and negative, right and wrong, man and woman. The anthology witnesses life in a modern-day society in all its resplendence and limitations.
The purpose of poetry is not just to titillate but to stir difficult conversations. To not always gently soothe but also to force open the dark layers of psyche where light is yet to reach.
White lotus is a symbol of inner awakening but before it can bloom, it needs to find a firm footing in the muck. Use this book as an ice-breaker to begin those uncomfortable dialogues with self and others, in which lies the opportunity to heal.
May we all awaken and shine bright!
