A Bangladeshi’s tale is a collection of poems that talk about Amana’s experiences growing up as a little child and her parent’s journey of moving from Bangladesh to Australia. The book touches on small town memories, cultural values and Islamic faith practices, Amana and her family grew up with and how they had navigated their life in Australia today.

Author's Name: Amana Azim About the Author: Amana Azim was born in Melbourne but grew up in the small town of Launceston in Tasmania where she spent her childhood memories. Moving back to Melbourne, Amana strives to spread the knowledge of her culture, values and her experiences growing up as a Bangladeshi Muslim with her family in Melbourne. Growing up she was always fascinated with stories, and you would always see her in the library reading the blurb of each book that catches her eye. In this series of poems, A Bangladeshi’s tale, Amana explores the experiences of immigrant parents, cultural and Islamic traditions carried from back home that make her who she is today. A Bangladeshi’s tale is Amana’s first solo book.
